1. Read the passage fully once to grasp the meaning. 2. Work on the easiest blanks first. 3. Use grammar clues (articles, prepositions, tense). 4. Use context from surrounding sentences. 5. Re-read the completed passage to check flow.
Cloze tests combine reading comprehension with grammar. The passage context usually decides between two grammatically possible options.

💡 Adverbs (-ly) modify the verbs "speak" and "hear".

💡 A consonant sound takes "a"; a singular third-person subject takes "has".
Q3. Choose the correct word for each blank: He ___(1)___ the work before his father ___(2)___ home.

💡 The earlier of two past actions takes the past perfect.
