Determiners

Foundation beginner easy

Determiners introduce nouns and show which or how many.

Foundation — The building blocks of English grammar.

Rules

1. Articles: a, an, the. 2. Demonstratives: this, that, these, those. 3. Possessives: my, your, his, her, its, our, their. 4. Quantifiers: some, any, much, many, few, little, several, enough. 5. Numbers: one, two, first, second. 6. Distributives: each, every, either, neither, both.

Explanation

A noun usually needs a determiner in English: "I have a pen" (not "I have pen"). Two determiners of the same kind cannot combine: "my this book" is wrong.

हिंदी में

अंग्रेज़ी में संज्ञा से पहले आमतौर पर एक determiner लगता है — a, the, my, this, some आदि। एक ही तरह के दो determiner साथ नहीं आते।
