Usage elementary easy
Much for uncountable, many for countable.
Usage — Common choices, confusions and preposition errors.
1. many + countable plural: many books, many people. 2. much + uncountable: much water, much time. 3. Both mainly in negatives and questions: I don't have much time; Do you have many friends? 4. In positive sentences use "a lot of": I have a lot of books. 5. "How much" (uncountable / price) vs "How many" (countable). 6. too much / too many: too much sugar, too many mistakes.
"How much money?" vs "How many rupees?" — money is uncountable, rupees are countable. In statements prefer "a lot of".
