Usage — Common choices, confusions and preposition errors.
1. "Another" = one more / a different one (singular): another cup of tea. 2. "Other" + plural noun: other students. 3. "The other" = the remaining one of two. 4. "Others" is the pronoun for other people/things. 5. "Each other" expresses mutuality.
"Another" is always singular and needs no determiner. "Other" needs a determiner or a plural noun: the other book, other books.
